Australia’s commercial property leaders, Burgess Rawson, are pleased to announce the promotion of Senior Healthcare and Childcare Specialist, Adam Thomas, to the role of director, Melbourne.
Mr Thomas, who is based in Melbourne, has accepted the offer of the Burgess Rawson directors to buy an equity stake in the Victorian division of the business, after successfully carving out a niche as a trusted and dedicated senior childcare and medical specialist.
Burgess Rawson is the largest privately owned commercial agency in the country. Each office is owned by the principals in each state, providing clients with direct access to decision-makers who are financially invested in their work. Mr Thomas is now one of seven Victorian-based directors.
“It has always been an ambition of mine to join the Burgess Rawson stable of directors, so this is a huge honour and career milestone,” Mr Thomas said.
“Clients appreciate it when you are directly invested in what you do, which is why the buy-in means so much to me: your success depends on your clients’ success, and that is a fantastic business model and motivator.
“As a director, you are also directly helping to shape the culture of the business. We’re a young, vibrant and fun team, but at the same time we have a great work ethic.”
Burgess Rawson CEO, Ingrid Filmer, said Mr Thomas would make a great contribution to the directors’ team.
“We take our clients’ expectations seriously, and we have a strong set of values that are built around honesty, reputation and trust,” Ms Filmer said.
“Adam’s professionalism, character and track record match those values perfectly, and his clients have a lot of respect for him.
“It was a no-brainer for us to offer the equity stake to such a talented member of the Burgess Rawson team.”
The buy-in comes on the back of Mr Thomas’ nomination for Commercial Sales Person of the Year at this year’s Annual REA Excellence Awards.
“It sounds like a bit of a cliche and, of course I would like to win, but it’s an honour just to be nominated,” Mr Thomas said.
“It’s the first time I’ve been nominated and it’s great to feel like you are held in high regard by peers and colleagues.”
Since joining the team in 2011, Mr Thomas has turned the emerging childcare sector into one of Burgess Rawson’s most successful market segments.
“The childcare property sector continues to show a positive outlook with G8 the largest ASX-listed group, jumping 11 per cent in their share price last Friday.”
With the help of team member Natalie Couper, Mr Thomas has overseen more than 270 childcare freehold sales Australia-wide, with a book value of more than $800 million.
