Burgess Rawson Canberra’s Managing Director Guy Randell has been recognised as the BEST Agent in the country for commercial sales.

Guy was named Commercial Salesperson of the Year at the 2020 Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) National Awards for Excellence, chosen out of a strong cohort of six state finalists from all over Australia.

With more than 25 years working across both the public and private sectors, Guy is one of the ACT’s foremost property experts with extensive experience in commercial sales, leasing and project marketing. He is also recognised as the expert in the childcare/project development space and secures a majority of exclusive listings.

The award recognises Guy’s strong efforts in 2019, which included a 30% increase in business, plus a number of outstanding record-breaking yields and sales results across industrial, childcare and retail.

He also played a key role in delivering Burgess Rawson’s large commercial projects in the Canberra region, in particular the major $300 million-dollar inner-north development, DKSN.

Drawing on his thorough understanding of the project and returns for businesses and investors, combined with dynamic pricing and an award-winning, innovative marketing campaign, Guy was able to achieve significant revenue increase above budget. Through Guy’s efforts, DKSN has secured the best tenancy mix in Canberra with a precinct that is self-serving and includes office, medical, retail, hospitality, supermarket and fitness.

Guy has cemented his reputation as an industry leader and helps shape strategic thinking and policy within the industry and mentors up-and-coming professionals as a member of the Property Council of Australia Executive Committee for the ACT, and Head of Commercial for REIACT. He is also engaged in a range of groups, including the Molonglo Residents Association, Gungahlin Community Council, Googong Residents Association and Phillip Business Council.

Guy was announced alongside the other winners of the 2020 REIA National Awards for Excellence on March 25. Unfortunately, the awards ceremony itself, originally planned to be held in Darwin on April 2, had to be cancelled due to measures in place surrounding COVID-19.

The ACT as a whole was well represented amongst this year’s finalists at the 2020 REIA National Awards for Excellence, and Guy was one of five Canberrans to take out national awards.

From all of us at Burgess Rawson congratulate Guy on this outstanding achievement.
