Tim was delighted to work during the golden age of Australian newspapers in the 1990s but loved his pivot to media and comms in 2007 when he moved to the United Kingdom to work for comparison site moneysupermarket.com. Soon, the internet start-up’s directors were the most widely quoted media sources on the UK economy which, in turn, led to its successful listing on the London Stock Exchange as Moneysupermarket Group PLC.
Back in Melbourne, he brought that penetration to Victoria University, which enjoyed unprecedented media exposure during his time there. Tim sees himself as a researcher for journalists, spotting a story, doing the research, and pitching it to the perfect person.
Burgess Rawson is particularly attractive for Tim, with him seeing it as another business that is on a steep upward trajectory.
